it is our dream to make Western Mountain Society a one-stop community service and discussion forum for adventure seekers and community travellers of all kinds, for seeking advice, researching, sharing stories, educating, cultural events, photos, submitting reviews and work towards waste management initiatives in a rural and urban setting.
A bearded bon viveur born in Kashmir and the founder of Western Mountains has been inspiring people with his deep knowledge of the outdoors and environment, he has lead various batches in the Indian Himalayas and Nepal. He has taken up journeys to far-reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. His expertise, knowledge and personal relationships with people allows us to design journeys that are more raw, rugged and adventurous, Climbing and Skiing are his main forte and keeps him immersed in his passion for adventure or what he calls “the pursuit of happiness”. Having more than ten years of experience in the outdoor industry, he is one of the most sought out guides at Sonamarg and a registered guide of Jammu and Kashmir tourism. When he is not in the office talking about business, he can be found exploring the mountains.
Well, the guy didn’t grow up in nature at all, born in one of the busy and populated cities of Bangalore. He was only exposed to the gardens of the city during his childhood days, he started having a big fascination with wilderness from an early age, and this leads him to travel around the Western Ghats down south during his college days. Today, he is an experienced Trip Leader who advocates for strong environmental conservation among travellers and led numerous batches in the Indian Himalayas which includes Kashmir, Ladakh, Zanskar, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Bhutan and Also been to The Alps in Europe in Switzerland, Italy, and Austria. He has also led many batches in the Western Ghats and volunteered for wildlife NGO’s for the animal survey in the tropical forests of Dandeli and Nagarahole down south. He has trained many campers with hands-on camping and wilderness skills needed for the backcountry. ‘Adventure is a way of life for him and lives by this motto, he holds a diploma for Trip leading from NOLS, Wilderness First Responder from WMI and a ‘Leave No Trace trainer. He actively pursues other adventure sports like backcountry Skiing, Kayaking, Cycling, Rock Climbing and is certified as an Advance open water scuba diver from PADI and never stops exploring.
The intellectual and humble dude of the team was born in Kashmir, he is a certified mountaineer from Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and enjoys leading trips in the wilderness. He has a good knowledge of trekking in Kashmir and is well versed in the flora and fauna in the region. He also has strong entrepreneur skills with branding his products and aims to pursue his venture (Waniz Universal Life) to a larger scale, his other interest lies in Robotics and actively keeps himself updated with the latest techno trends.
